Hog Roast Turville is privileged to have the Chilterns right on our doorstep. The rolling landscapes and breathtaking views of this chalk escarpment make for a stunning backdrop for weddings, and each year hundreds of brides and grooms flock here to make their wedding dreams come true!
Fraser and Christine were the latest lovebirds to tie the knot in this iconic spot, and guess what? They chose us to handle their catering! Their wedding venue was as dreamy as the surroundings. Transformed from a traditional farm into a chic events space, the converted barn featured large glass windows offering sweeping views of the landscape. Magical oak beams entwined with fairy lights, exposed brickwork, and traditional chandeliers created a majestic setting that was perfect for the couple’s big day.
Fraser and Christine exchanged heartfelt vows in front of 120 loved ones before making their grand entrance into the barn. Hog Roast Turville had arrived on-site hours earlier, ensuring we had ample time to prepare the perfect wedding feast. We decked out the dining tables with crisp tablecloths, real crockery, cutlery, and napkins, along with stunning centrepieces, placement cards, wine and water.
The guests buzzed with excitement as they took in the scene; the barn looked divine, adorned with colourful bouquets and soft lighting. The air was filled with tempting aromas, and the sight of the buffet had everyone eager to dig in! Before inviting the guests to fill their plates, our serving staff presented an array of delectable canapés. Gourmet sausages, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, roasted duck, mini pizzas, and mini quiches were elegantly displayed on bamboo platters for guests to help themselves.
The dinner service began with a homemade soup starter, served with crusty bread rolls and butter. The buffet that followed was a feast for all the senses: our traditional hog roast with all the trimmings, whole-roasted free-range turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce, and vegetarian grilled vegetable skewers with optional halloumi. A selection of fresh salads, creamy coleslaw, roasted new potatoes and baskets of fresh rolls completed the spread. Hog Roast Turville wrapped up our service with light and refreshing tarte au citron and vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream for dessert. The food was an instant hit, with everyone finding something to their liking – even the picky eaters Fraser and Christine had worried about! The dinner service was flawless, and the happy couple couldn’t have been more pleased!
